ProTreat 5.0

ProTreat is a specialized process simulation tool for designing, rating, and troubleshooting gas treating and CO2 capture units. It uses rigorous rate-based mass-transfer and electrolyte thermodynamics to predict absorber and regenerator performance, helping engineers evaluate solvents, column internals, and energy consumption under real operating conditions.

Key capabilities:

• Model acid-gas absorption and stripping (H2S, CO2) in columns with trays or random/structured packing, including hydraulics, pressure drop, and flooding margins.
• Evaluate common amine and blended solvents (e.g., MEA, DEA, MDEA, piperazine blends) and define custom solvents and contaminants.
• Simulate complete flowsheets around the treating unit (heat exchangers, pumps, reboilers/condensers, flash drums) with rigorous heat and material balances.
• Analyze selectivity, capacity, corrosion drivers, and solvent circulation/energy optimization for gas plants, refineries, LNG pretreatment, and post-combustion CO2 capture.
• Run case studies and sensitivity analyses with clear reporting to support design, revamp, and troubleshooting work.
